Abstract:

Zhetysu Alatau is one of the richest regions of Kazakhstan in terms of animal species diversity, second only to Altai. Thanks to the favorable combination of various landscapes found here, they can be used for scientific, educational, environmental, educational, cultural and recreational purposes. Presumably, up to five thousand species of insects can live in the entire mountain system, so additional scientific research is needed in the field of inventory. In 2021, for this purpose, field trips were organized to the territory of the Zhongar Alatau Natural Park. Explored territories - Sarkan branch, Baskan, Topolevka, Amanbokter forestry; Chernov, Lepsi forestry of the Lepsinsky branch. To collect initial materials, i.e., photos, videos, samples for collecting, methods of visual examination of large insect species, mowing with an entomological net, and catching by light were used. Scientific reference literature was used to identify insects. As a result, 8 new species were included in the list of insects living in the park. Thus, the taxonomic list is 651 species belonging to 67 families and 11 orders. Of these, 4 species – Coleoptera, 3 species - Lepidoptera, 1 species – Hymenoptera orders. The article contains additions to the list of invertebrates of 2021 inhabiting the territory of the Dzhungarskiy Alatau SNPP.

Key words: Invertebrates, insects, Zhongar Alatau, gorges.

Introduction:

Dzungarian-Alatau State National Nature Park is located in the central part of Eurasia, in the east of Almaty region, in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Administratively, the park is located in Aksu, Sarkan and Alakol districts of Almaty region. The total area of the park is 356,022 hectares.

The national park was created to preserve natural mountain landscapes of special ecological, historical and aesthetic value. The State National Nature Park is a special institution that combines research, recreation and education, environmental protection with various activities.

The following types of animal habitats can be distinguished in the park, which differ in the composition and diversity of plants:

  • high mountains (nival, alpine and subalpine landscapes);
  • landscapes of mountain river valleys in subalpine and alpine zones;
  • medium mountains (meadow-shrub-coniferous forest and meadow-steppe vegetation; landscapes with small deciduous and fruit forests, steppe meadows and fragmented relief with petrophytic steppes on the southern slope);
  • low mountains (plains, steppe landscapes with fragmented relief in some places) (Natural-scientific and technical-economic basis of the organization of Zhongar-Alatau GNPP [Natural science and feasibility study of the organization of the Zhongar-Alatau SNNP] 2008).

Invertebrates make up more than 90% of all species of animals in Kazakhstan. The largest group of invertebrates are insects. Scientifically, the entomofauna of the park includes many interesting endemic and relict species. The issue of inventory of the park's insects is very relevant, because the mountain system of the Semirechye Alatau is represented by all belts - medium and high mountain areas, where there is an area of a special complex of spruce insects, as well as a high level of species endemism. Today, the list of insects living in the park is 651 species belonging to 11 orders and 67 genera. In order to study the species diversity of insects, a 5-year (2021-2025) research work was conducted on the topic "Inventory of insects living in the territory of the Dzungarian Alatau SNNP." In the first year of the study of entomofauna, in accordance with the work plan on this topic, field trips were organized to the territory of the Sarkan branch of the Dzungarian-Alatau SNNP. Sarkan, Karasyryk, Kishi Baskan, Kokzhota, Osinovaya, Ulken Baskan, Bayanbay gorges of Amanbokter, Topolevka and Baskan forests were studied. Additional works were carried out in Lepsy forestry, Zhalanash gorge and Chernov forestry, Chernaya rechka gorge of Lepsy branch.
